Lindo jardim do Chalice Well / Chalice Well’s beautiful garden
O jardim gerenciado pelo Chalice Well Trust só é fechado ao público no primeiro sábado de junho. A entrada custa em torno de 4 libras, conforme tabela abaixo.Vale a pena pois o jardim é lindo, super bem tratado com flores exuberantes, fontes, cascatinha e lugares para ficar sentado meditando.
The garden established by the Chalice Well Trust is always open to public, except in the first saturday of June. The admission is around 4 pounds, as shown above. It’s worth because the garden is gorgeous, well tended, full of exquisite flowers, wells, a small fall and places to sit in meditation.
The White Spring – Well House Lane, Glastonbury, BA6 8BL
Mas só para beber água não é preciso pagar. A dois minutos a pé da entrada do Chalice Well, em Well House Lane, uma rua transversal, localiza-se a Fonte Branca, the White Spring. Na rua há uma torneira, na verdade duas, uma de cada lado. Um dos mistérios de Avalon é a existencia dessas duas fontes diferentes que brotam das cavernas sob o Tor a poucos metros uma da outra, ambas medicinais. A água da fonte branca é rica em cálcio e a vermelha em ferro. Provei ambas, o sabor é nitidamente diferente! E há quem diga que água é um líquido insípido…
But you don’t want to pay just to drink water. Two minutes walk from Chalice Well’s gates, in Well House Lane, stands the White Spring. In the street there’s a tap, actually two taps, in opposite sides of the street. One of the greatest mysteries of Avalon is that two different springs, one touched red with iron, the other white with calcite, should rise within a few feet of each other from the caverns beneath Glastonbury Tor. Both have healing in their flow. I drank both and they taste different. And some say water is tasteless…
Entrada / White Spring entrance
Uma construção foi feita sobre a fonte para criar um reservatório em 1872. Água limpa, especialmente quando a cólera assolava a cidade, era uma bênção. The well house was constructed over the spring, to provide a reservoir in 1872. The clean water, which it provided for the town suffering with cholera, was a great blessing.
White Spring: no interior do Templo, poços de água medicinal onde o visitante pode se banhar. Inside the Temple you find the healing bathing wells.
O contraste é total entre a Fonte Branca – uma caverna misteriosa, iluminada por velas – e o Chalice Well, jardim ensolarado onde predomina a Fonte Vermelha. Yin e yang, as energias complementares do universo.
The contrast between the Springs is absolute. The White, in a mysterious cave, candle lit, and the vast sunlit Red Spring that prevails in Chalice Well. Yin and yang, the complementary forces of Universe.
